When Chelsea Comes to Town

This is my lovely cousin Chel.

While we live around 1,000 miles away from most of our family, we're lucky that in this corner of the world we do have a few ties. One of my favorite cousins happens to be going to school for her master's degree in Vancouver, B.C. - around a 3 hour drive from here.

Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving, so she used her day off of school to head down here and see us!
We have great neighbors and a good ward, but we haven't had the chance to make a lot of friends yet. So it was nice to have someone to just hang out with...you know, without all the awkward small talk and such that comes with getting to know people. Instead, we could attend Lego conventions, watch a lot of TV, take walks, play Scrabble, and just be ourselves. Family is so great.
We're looking forward to lots of weekend trips both to and from Vancouver over the next year. It's great to have an outlet.

Thanks so much for coming Chel, we had a blast! See you in a few weeks!
