A couple of weeks ago, we were on the verge of finally letting him take one home. A kind lady at the store asked us if we'd ever heard of Craven Farm. We hadn't. We're still newbies around here. She kindly explained that we didn't want to buy Walt a boring grocery store pumpkin. We wanted to take him to a pumpkin patch.
We've never been to a pumpkin patch (probably because, you know, we've never had a kid who cared). We decided to try it out though. We made plans to go -- and it rained. I had really been looking forward to a day out, planned naps around it, and Landon had even come from school early. After a bit of deliberation, we decided that, as Seattlites now, we weren't going to let the rain stop us. So we bundled up and off we went.
So. Totally. Worth it.
When we let him pick out his own special small pumpkin to take home, I'm pretty sure he was in heaven. All that was left was to buy him a 35¢ ghost cookie to make his entire month. Maybe year, who knows? Santa might not be able to compete with an endless field of balls...
This isn't on the bucket list, but Craven Farm gets a solid
