Our Seattle bucket list is a list of adventures we're hoping to have while Landon studies at the University of Washington for the next several years. To view all of our bucket list posts, click here.

I'll admit, this bucket list item was a little bit of a filler. Knowing that we have neither unlimited funds or vacation time from work/school, I put a few things on the list that I knew would be easy to accomplish. :) But we are REI fans, so why not visit the original store?
But once we got there, we were actually impressed.
Awesome things about this store:
1. It is HUGE - 2 floors, 1/2 block across, tons of interesting outdoor gear, and a big climbing wall. In addition to the smaller practice climbing wall.
Walt just loved the "Fya-fee."
2. Free 1 hour parking, and reasonable rates after that. Downtown, it's a huge deal to find a good place to park. So stores that provide customer parking are high on my good-will list.
3. Friendly staff, for sure. I have always had a good experience at REI, and this one was no different.
4. The indoor playground on the top floor? Genius. Walt and I will be back for sure.
We're always looking for free, indoor activities so we can get out of the house on a rainy afternoon. This one exceeded our expectations. :)
PS: In case it isn't obvious, REI has no idea who I am, and this is not a paid review. All the opinions in all of our reviews are honest and belong to our family. We're just here to have fun.
