We had grand intentions of a beautiful, creative, homemade costume this year. After all, I'm a stay-at-home Mom now, right? I have time all day to just hang out and do crafts...oh wait. Anyhow, when we came across the perfect outfit for our little stinker, and for $5 at the thrift store, no less...we could not resist.
We spent most of the day just hanging out and working, doing our usual thing. But when Landon came home from work, we did get a chance to take our little boy Trick or Treating on a local main street. It was perfect! He didn't quiet get it this year...he was a little bit in shock at all of the people and costumes. He was basically silent the whole time.
But he did really enjoy the decorations, getting to walk by himself, and the donut one shop was passing out...
It was the perfect outing for our little family - nice and low key. I felt a lot less pressure this year to make it a "big" day, since it was Walt's second Halloween. And frankly, I think it turned out better because of that.
And Mom and Dad had a great time. We *might* have eaten most of his candy last night while we watched Hocus Pocus (a family tradition). But we saved him a few choice pieces, which I'll dole out over the next couple of days. One thing is for sure...Halloween is a so much more fun with this munchkin around!
Happy Halloween from the Burgener clan!
