One short day...

Monday we celebrated one last day of responsibility-free life. This included sleeping late, playing Legos, eating Ramen Noodles, and then wandering around doing a few errands and just basically having fun hanging out together and doing nothing. Our anniversary is later this week, but since we probably won't have much of a chance to celebrate, we decided to hold the festivities early. After much deliberation, we concluded that as part of our reckless and no-responsibility day, we'd throw caution (and budget) to the wind and go to Tucanos, which is the equivalent of Rodizio Grill here in Provo.
Oh man, was it ever fun/delicious. We liked it better than Rodizio. The service was better, it was less noisy/crowded, and it was a little cheaper. After we had eaten so much we couldn't possibly eat any more, we decided to do something a little crazy that I haven't done since high school, and we probably won't really be able to do once our baby is here. We packed up our car, popped some popcorn, stopped off at Red Box, went up Provo Canyon a ways and had our very own drive-in movie.
It was SO fun! We got to talk a lot, enjoy the movie, and have some fresh air all at once. I highly recommend this activity.

Definitely not a bad way to celebrate 4 years of US. It's been amazing. I am so blessed with a husband who is a good man and makes things easy on me. He is constantly filling our house with fun and laughter, and makes me a better person. I can't wait to watch him become a father and pass on all of his good traits to our heir apparent. Thanks Lando, for the best four years of my life. Here's hoping the best is yet to come!

April Showers Bring...

Our baby boy is so loved that we got to have TWO baby showers in April! One given by my wonderful mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and another given by my crafty, over-achieving sister. I never turn down a celebration, especially when I get to be the guest of honor. :) Some things about being pregnant are pretty fun.

The first shower was in Rexburg. The food was AMAZING, and the decorations were super cute. We were totally spoiled with dozens of gifts.

But the best part was seeing so many of the people I care about, and sharing this new life with them.

Erica, one of my best friends from high school, came all the way from her home in Swan Valley. We hadn't seen each other in a year or so, and it was so great to catch up! She is due with her third (a little boy also) about a week before me.

The other shower was held with the exuberant Sanders clan at our annual girl's weekend in Park City. As always, we spent most of the time eating, talking and shopping...in that order. But, we managed to make time for some gift-giving and fun game playing in the midst of it all.

We played the funnest shower game I've ever seen. Everyone had a baby picture with a childhood story on the back, and we took turns drawing names and reading the stories, and whoever's photo it was got to pick a prize. It was funny and surprising to hear about some of the memories and childhood stories!

My mom also contributed a "shower bingo" game where we kept track of what presents were opened and tried to get a bingo. Super fun.

We were completely spoiled at this shower also. Our little boy is basically set up with adorable clothes for the first year of his life.

It was a lot of fun sharing this occasion with my cousin's wife, Sarah (Due in October). Both of us struggled to get pregnant, and it seemed extra special to have two miracles on the way.

Thanks everyone! We are so appreciative of the friends and family who love us, support us, and are excited for us. It's wonderful to know how loved our little boy already is. I can't believe we get to meet him in a month!

My First Mother's Day

So apparently being pregnant counts as being a Mom. Who knew? Landon decided that this would be my first official Mother's Day, and spoiled me accordingly. I have to say, it was a marked improvement over the same day last year.

It started out with breakfast in bed:

Then we headed off to Church where, since all of the Young Women were teaching primary and a lot of other people were out of town, we miraculously only had four kids in attendance at our Sunday School class. Wow. It is SOOOO much easier to handle 4 kids than 16. Huge difference. And a nice break.

We talked to our own fabulous mothers, and then Landon made lunch, we took a nap and he ALSO made dinner. What a guy. :) We got to talk to someone special in Nicaragua--

And then on top of everything else, I was spoiled with gifts! Including a new Arthur book, a great book about babies, and:
Yeah. I'm pregnant, what can I say? Ignore my awful hairdo, I had just woken up.

Is not my husband the greatest guy in the world? Such a fun day. I could get used to this!
