Happy Birthday Landon! (Chapter One)

Landon turned 23 on Sunday! We had an amazing weekend together...and he was REALLY spoiled. Of course, he deserves all of it, and more. Friday night Abby and Stella came to play and we had a special birthday dinner and went swimming. Saturday, I made Landon get up really early on go on an adventure with me! There were mysterious clues hidden all over our house in the morning, which he had fun figuring out. The clues eventually lead us out the door and to a delcious breakfast at McDonald's. Another clue spirited its way onto our food tray and lead us to our second stop of the day: The Utah Museum of Natural History!Landon had never been, and was pretty excited about all we saw there. He even got himself a private tour of the Paleontology lab, where one of the volunteers knew all of his bosses and professors and showed us a new species they are working on. It was awesome!
After we had our fill of the dinosaurs, Landon found another clue in his pocket. This clue lead him to find a special present in the trunk of our car:

I bought him a hat for his 2-week field camp coming up in August. Unfortunately, I had a hard time picking it out, so he'll be picking out the real thing himself. We drove around for a couple hours, but unfortunately found nothing on Saturday. Oh well, we will find a good one! He's pretty excited. After our shopping escapade, we ran home for a quick lunch and then rode Trax downtown for the final event: dinner and a movie. The Dark Knight is amazing, in case anyone was wondering. We want to see it again! We also ate at a restaurant that Landon has been begging to go to for about a year:
Apparently there is a Rodizio in Lima, Peru, and Landon has been dreaming about this place since he ate there on his mission. It was really good, and we had a lot of fun together, although we definitely ate too much!
After dinner, we had a slight adventure missing the train and walking/running several blocks to catch the next one. When you've eaten like 2 pounds of meat, running is not a good idea. :) We when finally made it home at 11 p.m., we had a cheesecake to make! It took almost 3 hours to finish everything, so needless to say we were exhausted in the morning. But all-in-all, the long fun-filled day was totally worth it. And the cheesecake was worth it, too.
