May the Force be with you!

For his last two birthdays, I've planned elaborate surprises for Landon. This year, we had a lot of other things going on (and I was totally out of ideas), so I decided to let him choose what he wanted to do. I should have known I was just asking for it....

Yep, he asked for a Star Wars party -- at the age of 24. I had a bad feeling about this, but what could I do? He got really into it, even making his own decorations:

We were a little nervous when we asked people to come in costume, but our friends really pulled through!
If only you could see how cool my hair looked...
Turns out there is a reason Han always wears his shirt open...
Rebels and Sith alike were greeted by our infamous host, Mr. R2-D2 himself.
The illustrious Jaba even put in an appearance. Here Yoda attempts to stuff his face...
We even issued some elegant weapons, from a more civilized time: edible, of course.

We played a rousing game of "Eat the Jedi, Do Not," which Abby and I enjoyed, and everyone else tried to comprehend. (If anyone out there has played "Don't Eat Pete," shout out to you!) I made this game myself, and I was pretty proud of it, so I am posting it here in case anyone out there needs to throw a Star Wars party for a 4-year-old, perhaps. Email me and I'll send you the instructions for playing. :)

Then we subjected our guests to a Star Wars trivia game that Landon was bound to win. There were prizes for all.

Star Wars wrapping paper, there was!

Then we had to remind Landon about his roots - he was a little confused about which planet we were on.
Thanks so much to all of our friends for being good-natured enough to dress in crazy costumes, play crazy games, and help to make Landon's party awesome!

Happy Birthday Buddy - this is living proof that I really would do anything for you!
